The District Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Finals were held at the Kansas School for the Deaf (KSD), Olathe, KS, on May 17, 2007.
Governor-Elect Chuck Mansfield was present to represent the Governor.
Finalists were Nathan Jalali, Leavenworth; Brandi Green, Alanna Laughrey, Tommy Little, Travis Trumble and Trisha Waddell, from KSD.
The two winners of the scholarships were: Tommy Little and Alanna Laughrey.
Kansas District Chair Sharon Volk and KSD Oratorical Sponsor Kaitlyn LeClerc managed the contest.
Sincere thanks to volunteer judges Angie Cooper, Jennifer Hampton, and Arlene Kuschmider for their able assistance in this program. Thanks also to the Clockwinders Optimist Club and Noon Optimist Club both of Olathe for their backing of the CCDHH program.
